I was very free today and succesfully modded another small host to XM-L T6 1A bin LED. The host is a LX1 replica bought from KD. It was originally fitted with a Q3 LED.

The head was not easy to dismantle unlike the Surefire L1. Same procedure except that this one uses a reflector which I like. Soldering was easy. This time I used a 26AWG wire instead of
20AWG which I used on the L1 mod I did earlier. Reason being the reflector height need to be adjusted to achieve excellent beam pattern. Thicker wire will make it out of focus which I
didn't like. Pictures below. Beamshot later

After the mod. I used Arctic Alumina Adhesive to glue down the LED.

For more amp draw I used FM E-series 18650 body. This produced more lumens than the smaller 16430 which gave out only 1.0A at the tail.
I need to take out the McClicky switch in the 18650 body in order to take current draw reading. I have not done this. Maybe later.

Q3 and T6.

This light can throw with the help of the reflector which is much better than the TIR optic of the L1. I'm really happy with it and some more it's a cheap mod.
Less than RM200 for the mod. Host is RM150. LED RM30. Sweat, patience and TLC...priceless. RM20 for my electricity bill(soldering & lighting)
